Students in health careers need a solid foundational knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan. Teaching about birth defects and disorders is an important piece of this knowledge. Ensuring students understand what common birth defects and disorders are and the implications they have as individuals age is key. You’ll get ideas for engaging today’s students in these difficult topics, including tools for creating “aha’” moments that students will remember.
Participants will leave with a plethora of links to free resources and information on these important topics. Recommendations for hands-on resources will also be shared.
