NCHSE’s commitment to meet the needs of all health science programs led to the recent development of a four course curriculum example that is aligned to the National Health Science Standards.   Beginning this August 2020, NCHSE member states and HSEA members are invited to participate in beta testing for the health science curriculum assessments at no cost to the participant for in person testing.

The new exams are designed as end of course assessment certificates and align to the curriculum: Foundation of Healthcare Professions, Essentials of Healthcare Practices, Human Structure, Function and Disease A and Human Structure, Function and Disease B. Four Course Curriculum  Beta testing validates the assessment(s) for functionality, usability, reliability, and norming of test scores. The beta testing opportunity allows you to test your students’ knowledge of health science at no cost and also inform your classroom with the resultant test data of student knowledge of each national health science standard.  National Health Science Standards

Please note that student scores do not reflect grade scale since there is no cut score at this point in time.  Students can take more than one certificate exam based on their health science knowledge as determined by their health science teacher.  Beta testing is available now through December of 2020 with the goal of over 500 test takers per course certificate.

Prior to participating in the beta testing  health science teachers will be required to complete a short webinar outlining the benefits of the testing and the validation of the assessments, how to access the assessment certificate data per National Health Science Standard, how to apply the overall student data to inform classroom instruction and how to register for the exams. The assessments will be facilitated by YouScience previously known as Precision Exams.  Please contact support@youscience.com, 800-470-1215 if interested.
